Tada! Here is the interview!

Our Magnolia Hall had the pleasure of having Pat Maney, Singer / Songwriter, perform at the November Jamboree. He is in the process of producing a CD.

Pat Maney was born in St. Catharines, Ontario, went on to spend some time in Winnipeg and then ended up out here in Alberta in 1979.

Pat had a bit of a rocky start in music. At the age of 5 years old, he had the opportunity to take guitar lessons – in fact Hawaiian guitar lessons. But he was definitely NOT impressed and refused to take any more lessons after a week!

He’s come a long way since then, but he actually had a bit of a late start. He would sing and play in private, but never in front of people he didn’t know. His stage debut was only 3 1/2 years ago. The very first time he got up to sing on stage he was kind of coerced into it by some friends! This was in May of 2012, at a Jamboree in Looma, AB, south of Edmonton, and apparently it must have gone very well! He’s come a long way since then!

Since then he has started writing his own songs – in fact he excels in that even more than singing, he says.

He is inspired by George Strait and George Jones

One of his favorite songs is “Bumming Around”, written by Pete Graves and sung by Dean Martin.

Thank you for your contribution to the entertainment at our November Jamboree Pat!
