What went on and had been achieved in the past year of 2012:
- Hardwood floors were refinished
- New Magnolia Community Club sign was erected by highway
- Purchased a new commercial fridge as the old one quit working
- Our webpage was set up and maintained for the Magnolia Community Club
- A great job by the Welcoming Committee: four new families were welcomed during the year
- Held an Open House in the fall which was quite successful
- Board positions and duties were clarified
- Fire extinguishers were replaced or maintained as required
- A new logo was designed for the club; fridge magnets and brochures were made up
- Three people from the hall attended the President’s Forum
- A great job designing and completing themes was done for the display case in the foyer
- Open House / Corn Roast took place for the first time
- Rose Campbell was chosen as Volunteer of the Year for 2011 who was honored at a dinner in May 2012
- Magnolia Hall has been providing hot lunches at the Jamborees for the winter months; a hit with the crowd.
- The ball tournament was held with great success
What is currently happening, and some of the potential plans for the future:
- Repair and re-shingling of the roof (now planned)
- Upgrading of insulation in attic
- Sidewalk blocks outside front entryway to be leveled
- “Magnolia Celebrates” weekend to be planned – (has taken place and was a great success!)
- Paint the outside of the hall
- Paint entry walls
- Paint bathrooms
- Replace bathroom lighting
- Replace items in washrooms
- Paint railing
- Bleachers need to be repaired or replaced (have been modified for now – thank you Rick)
Open House / Corn Roast will hopefully be planned for this year again
